The “Bond Building” (1400 New York Avenue) upgrade for the Department of Justice was designed and constructed in conjunction with 1301 New York Ave. The Criminal Division offices, approximately 350,000 SF over two buildings, were in need of department reorganization and functional and aesthetic improvements. The project was completed in phases simultaneously while the building remained occupied. Existing office intensive floors were converted to open plans with workstations placed along the window line. All floors received new break rooms and modern sustainable finishes. Existing HVAC systems and lighting infrastructure were completely upgraded.
