Valerie A. Barnes, CID, IIDA

Principal | Interior Architect

Valerie A. Barnes has a design focus in corporate interiors, retail, and healthcare design. As a project manager and design team leader, Valerie is involved in all aspects of full service design. As needed, Valerie will assume the role of construction manager helping the client coordinate independent vendors and consultants. Valerie also provides services in furniture, graphic design, and art selection. Her close involvement throughout the project reflects a cohesive design.

In 2006, Barnes founded VA-Spaces, an Interior Design firm located in Northern Virginia as a means to work with some of her friends in the industry. Initially, the firm was to be part-time. Since 2012, VA-Spaces has continued to grow and recently completed construction on a new space in Tysons Corner.

Barnes has also worked as a Senior Project Designer for OTJ Architects located in Washington, D.C. and Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart located in Tampa, Florida.
